hello

And then...

I began to discover myself. That my obsession with my weight was about control. If I could control my weight I was worthy of joy and being loved. If I couldn’t control my weight that was about old scripting. All those words that were engrained in my head from childhood.

Unworthiness. Shame. Fat. Bad.

You know what I am talking about. The shadow of myself. I stumbled upon a hypnotherapist and decided to try it. It changed my life right there and then. I had such clarity about my weight loss obsession. That it wasn’t about the weight. It was about healing. I loved it so much that I embarked on a career path that of a hypnotherapist.

I brought this into my weight loss clinic. It changed everything. Clients began to heal and their lives changed.

I am now pursuing training in other trauma healing methods such as Rohun therapy which is like pulling file drawers of your life and healing what needs to be healed.

Healing and weight loss go hand in hand.

The Journey

I have had a vision of starting a weight loss clinic. I started my first weight loss center in 2009 in the worst economy in forty years. Opened up the doors with one client.

Eleven years later a clientele base of five thousand happened. I have learned so much along the way from my clients. That weight loss is personal.

I had my first eating disorder at the age of 13. Have spent most of my life dieting and being defined by the scale. I have gained weight and lost weight a million times. I saw a photo of myself and was shocked by what I saw. I said no more. I knew what I needed to do and started doing it.

I gave up Jack in the Box, McDonalds, Doritos, salami and cheese. Embraced healthy whole grains like oatmeal, had one slice of whole wheat bread instead two. Increased fruit and vegetables. Drank more water. Began to commit to exercise. I walked a mile on my lunch hour.

In short, I began to take better care of myself. It worked.

I lost thirty pounds in six months. Weighed in once a week. But the obsession with the scale was still present. My happiness was tied to the scale.
